Shankar's son-in-law Tarun Karthikeyan clarifies his profession: Never worked as an assistant director

Director Shankar's daughter Aishwarya's wedding has been the talk of town this week. Aishwarya Shankar got hitched with Tarun Karthikeyan post their engagement in February this year. While the couple was grabbing the headlines as the celeb roll calls were made at their wedding with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to Ranveer Singh turning up at the wedding reception; Tarun Karthikeyan revealed that he never worked as an assistant of Shankar.
In a press conference that was held last week, director Shankar's son-in-law, Tarun speaking to the media said that his father owns an IT company in the US and he is from that background. Tarun clarified that he never worked as Shankar's assistant director and said that he wanted to stop the rumours about his profession.
Director Shankar's elder daughter Aishwarya tied the knot with Tarun Karthikeyan in a grand wedding ceremony this week. The event was a star studded event and almost all directors and actors attended the reception and wished the couple.
Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Karthi, Ranveer Singh, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Mohanlal, Shruti Haasan, Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, Lokesh Kanagraj, Atlee, Priya are a few among others who attended the wedding from the film industry.
On the work front, Shankar is currently shooting for his films 'Indian 2' and 'Game Changer' which are scheduled to be out in theatres this year. The director also has completed shooting for 'Indian 3' and actor Kamal Haasan revealed that following the release of 'Indian 2', the post-production works for 'Indian 3' will begin.
