Bokaro BJP urges EC to replace SP
Bokaro: The Bokaro unit of BJP on Friday urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to replace Bokaro superintendent of police (SP) Pujya Prakash Singh.
BJP workers, led by the saffron party’s Law Cell’s state convenor Sudhir Srivastava and state working committee member Rajshree Jayanti, submitted a memorandum to the chief electoral officer in Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar, highlighting concerns about superintendent of police Pujya Prakash Singh’s residence in Dhanbad and his posting in Bokaro that falls under the Dhanbad Lok Sabha constituency.
They argue that his presence may influence the election.
Sudhir cited the poll panel guidelines that state that an officer should not be posted in the Lok Sabha constituency, under which his/her home district falls. BJP’s Bokaro district president Jaidev Rai also requested the Election Commission to address the issue as it violates the rules.
