Hyderabad: The Telangana high court is likely to pronounce its order on Tuesday in the petition filed by Jubilee Hills police asking it to vacate the stay on arresting Mohammed Raheel Aamir, son of former BRS MLA of Bodhan, Mohammed Shakil Aamir, who was made an accused in March 2022 Jubilee Hills accident that killed a toddler.

On Monday, Justice B Vijaysen Reddy concluded hearing in the case. Raheel’s counsel Vedula Venkata Ramana urged court not to vacate stay as only motive of police was to arrest his client. State home department’s counsel Mahesh Raje said restraint order had become an impediment for police despite an order trial court permitting them to go ahead with investigation.

The judge said he had already bound over the accused and wondered whether a stringent section such as IPC 304 Part II could be applied on a drunk person.
