7 districts in Telangana surpass 45°C; IMD issues orange alert
HYDERABAD: As temperatures soar across Telangana, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for several districts, signalling the heat wave. A yellow warning has been issued for districts including Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar, among others. Additionally, an orange warning has been declared for April 28, indicating even higher temperatures in Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, seven districts have recorded temperatures surpassing 45°Celsius. Karimnagar topped the charts with 45.6°C, followed by Peddapalli and Nalgonda at 45.2°C . Other districts which experienced 45°C are Jagtial, Yadadri, Wanaparthy and Warangal. While, 32 districts except for Narayanpet experienced 43°C. Meanwhile, Narayanpet recorded 42.7°C. In Hyderabad, a heat wave is expected to grip the region, with temperatures soaring above 43°C in several localities. Chanda Nagar recorded a sweltering 43.5°C, while Qutubullapur followed closely behind at 43.4°C. Residents of Moosapet, Begumpet, and Serilingampally also endured temperatures over 43°C.

With temperatures forecasted to range between 40°C and 44°C in the coming days, authorities are urging citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and stay hydrated. "As the heat wave persists, it is essential for residents to take necessary precautions to safeguard their health and well-being," an official from the IMD said
