Tata Nexon becomes more affordable with new variants: Details

Tata Motors launched the facelifted Nexon back in September 2023 with prices starting at Rs 8.10 lakh for the base Smart petrol MT variant, and going up to Rs 15.50 lakh for the Fearless+ S diesel AMT variant. And now, Tata Motors has launched new base variants for the petrol and diesel Nexon.
The petrol Nexon is now available in a new Smart(O) variant priced at Rs 7.99 lakh.And the diesel can now be had from the Smart+ variant onwards priced at Rs 9.99 lakh. The Nexon diesel previously started from the mid-spec Pure variant onwards. The bookings for these new variants have already begun, interested customers can book it online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to start soon.

The new Petrol Smart (O) variant is Rs 15,000 more affordable than the previous base variant, Smart and with the introduction of the latest variants, the base price of the Nexon diesel is down by Rs 1.10 lakh. Also, the prices for the Smart + and Smart + S variants have been lowered by Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000, respectively. The Tata Nexon Smart + is now priced at Rs 8.90 lakh whereas the Smart + S is priced at Rs 9.40 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Talking about the features, the new entry diesel variant gets features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, reverse camera, shark fin antenna, a multi-function steering wheel, power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The Smart+ S diesel additionally gets auto headlamps, an electric sunroof with voice assist, rain-sensing wipers, roof rails and a knitted roof liner.

Talking about the features in the petrol entry-level variant, the company has not listed the features on the website yet but it’s expected to get six airbags, ESP, LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED taillamps, ISOFIX, twin-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo, front power windows, reverse parking sensors, central locking, tilt adjustment for the steering wheel, drive modes such as Eco, City and Sport.

The Nexon is offered with two engine options - a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, whereas the diesel gets a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT automatic transmission.
