AHMEDABAD: For the third consecutive day on Thursday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 43°C, 1.5 degrees above normal. At 28.9°C, the minimum temperature was 2.2 degrees above normal. An India Meteorological Department forecast stated the maximum temperature may remain the same on Friday. Ahmedabad was the hottest along with Surendranagar, followed by Rajkot at 42°C, Vallabh Vidyanagar at 41.9°C, Gandhinagar at 41.6°C and Amreli at 41.2°C.
The forecast indicated that weather systems over northeast Rajasthan, central Maharashtra and northeast Arabian Sea could result in light rain and thundershowers in differnt parts of Gujarat from May 11 onwards.
