Accompanied by his family members, Union home minister Amit Shah cast his vote in Ahmedabad and urged voters to elect a stable govt that will ensure that India becomes a prosperous nation. Shah is BJP candidate from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat.
Shah arrived at the AMC Naranpura sub-zonal office polling booth with wife Sonal Shah, son Jay Shah and other family members.
He greeted supporters before casting his vote. Emerging from the booth, Shah showed his inked finger and flashed the victory sign. “I would like to appeal to all voters across the country and the voters of Gujarat to participate enthusiastically in this festival of democracy.
Choose a stable govt which is dedicated to make the country safe and prosperous, which works for the welfare of the poor and India's pride,” the Union minister told reporters. He also appealed to the people to elect a govt which is against corruption and wants to eradicate poverty, make the country self-reliant, developed and number one in every field in the world.
Shah and his family members offered prayers at the Kameshwar Mahadev temple adjacent to the polling booth after exercising their franchise. This is a tradition that Shah has followed for several years.
