Ahmedabad: The Gujarat high court on Thursday transferred more than 390 judicial officers of the state judiciary in the second set of transfers this year.
In all, 287 civil judges have been transferred either to other districts or talukas or within the premises of the same court while more than 100 district cadre judges have been moved to other courts.
The high court has framed a policy for transferring judges. Except under extraordinary circumstances, a judicial officer is posted at one place for three years.
The court has divided the state into three zones and the judges are part of zone transfers every three years. These transfers take place routinely, mostly ahead of the summer vacation. tnn
