Thursday brought exciting news for Class 12 students. The science stream results hit a nine-year high, while the general stream (commerce and arts) results shattered previous records. In the science stream, regular students achieved an impressive 82.45% pass rate. When factoring in repeat and external students, the overall pass rate reached 75.05%. Meanwhile, the general stream boasted an outstanding 91.93% pass rate among regular students, resulting in an overall success of 83.37%.This year's science stream success echoes the heights of 2015's 86.10%, while the general stream reached a historical pinnacle, surpassing the 2006 record of 91.02%.
For the first time, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) broke tradition and unveiled Class 12 science and general stream results on the same day. Typically, GSHSEB reveals science stream results first, followed by the general stream, with Class 10 results trailing a few days later. In the science stream, Morbi district achieved the highest success rate of 92.8%, whereas Chhota Udepur recorded the lowest success rate of 51.36%. In the general stream, Botad district secured the highest pass rate of 96.4%, with Junagadh district recording the lowest success rate of 84.81% this year.
Report card

A total of 1.31 lakh Class 12 science stream students, including 1.11 lakh regular students, appeared for the board exams held from March 11 to 26. Out of these, 91,625 regular students cleared the exams. A total of 98,050 repeat and external students passed the exam. The Kumbharia village exam centre in Kutch district recorded the highest success rate of 97.97% in the science stream, while Bodeli in Chhota Udepur had the lowest pass rate of 47.98%. In the general stream, out of 3.78 lakh regular students who took the exam, 3.47 lakh passed, achieving a record-breaking pass rate of 91.93% in the state. Overall, out of 4.78 lakh students appearing for the exam, including regular, repeat, and other students, 3.98 lakh students secured success, marking an all-time high pass rate of 91.93%.
The Chhala exam centre in Gandhinagar district boasted the highest success rate of 99.61% in the general stream, while the Khavda exam centre in Kutch district reported the lowest pass rate at 51.11%.
