Kodagu student clears exam, gets engaged, killed

A 16-year-old girl, the only SSLC student of a govt school in a remote village in Kodagu district who cleared the SSLC exam and got engaged on Thursday, to a groom almost twice her age, was reportedly found murdered, with her head chopped off, late in the night.
Sources claimed that the groom, after the betrothal, returned to the bride's village at 4pm, took her out for a walk for nearly 500 metres and chopped her head off near a temple.He is said to have walked away with her head, leaving the body behind. The incident reportedly took place in the deep jungles 30km from Madikeri. tnn
