Bhopal: The Crime Branch team on Saturday arrested a man and seized cannabis worth Rs 1.20 lakh from him.
According to the police, they received a tip-off, following which the crime branch team reached MP Nagar near Subhash Nagar ROB and detained the accused, Vikhil alias Vicky Vishwakarma, 22, a resident of Chhola Road in Gautam Nagar. When the police checked his bag, they found 6.1 kg ganja inside, which was seized.
Police were looking into the source from where the accused brought the illegal Ganja.
Police have booked Vishwakarma under the NDPS Act.
In Ratibad, a 60-year-old man was also arrested for supplying cannabis illegally and ganja worth Rs 13,000 was seized from him.
Police received a tip-off about a drug peddler wearing white kurta and pants, following which a police team reached the spot and kept the area under surveillance.
They identified the accused based on the details provided by the informer and detained him.
During interrogation, the man revealed his name as Madanlal, a resident of Mungalia Chhap village in Ratibad.
On searching the plastic bag which the accused was carrying, 820 grams of ganja was found inside, which was seized by the police. The man was booked under the NDPS Act.
