Grocer held with tobacco products
Coimbatore: A 40-year-old man was arrested on Friday for selling banned tobacco products at his grocery shop at Ganapathy Moor market area. Police have seized 106kg of banned tobacco products from his shop.
Police identified the arrested person as R Srinivasan, 40, of Ganapathy. A team led by Saravanampatti law and order police sub-inspector Kumar conducted a search at the shop following a tip off.

Police said he was already an accused in three more COTPA cases.
The grocer was booked under Section 328 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 24 (1) of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA). He was produced before a judicial magistrate and later remanded in judicial custody. He was lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
