BJP protests against Pitroda comments
New Delhi: Leaders and workers of BJP held a protest near the Congress headquarters at Akbar Road here on Thursday, demanding an apology from party leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, over Sam Pitroda’s remarks.
Pitroda’s recent remark about to the appearance of Indians being similar with some other races has caused Congress major embarrassment.
At Thursday’s protest, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said that diversity is India’s biggest strength.
“But the racist statement abuses our unity and integrity. This statement by Pitroda is not spontaneous. After seeing the ground shifting from under their feet... Congress leaders are now resorting to racist remarks,” Sachdeva said.
Delhi Congress interim president Devendar Yadav said the party had distanced itself from Pitroda’s remark. tnn
