Odisha native held with drugs worth Rs 4 lakh
PANAJI: Goa police’s crime branch on Sunday arrested an Odisha native, Jitendra Nayak, 28, for the alleged illegal possession of narcotics worth Rs 40 lakh.
SP Rahul Gupta said that the crime branch had received specific and reliable information about a consignment. The team then conducted a raid near the Margao wholesale fish market and caught Nayak red-handed.
He was in possession of 4kg of “flowering and fruiting tops of a plant suspected to be ganja”.
The crime branch then registered an FIR under various sections of the NDPS Act, 1985, and arrested Nayak.
