HBS: Sonowal has been true leader of Assam
Dibrugarh: As the Lok Sabha elections inch closer, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to the stage in Digboi in Tinsukia district to drum up support for Sarbananda Sonowal, the BJP candidate for the Dibrugarh seat.
Speaking at the rally on Friday, Sarma urged the public to vote for BJP in order to ensure that PM Narendra Modi secures a third term, allowing for the continuation of development initiatives in Assam under his leadership.

Sarma spoke about the importance of a double-engine govt, with both govts in Delhi and in Dispur (Assam) working together to bring development to the state.
“We want Narendra Modi to become the Prime Minister for the third time and we want Sarbananda Sonowal to represent us in Parliament. PM Modi’s continued leadership is crucial for the growth of our state. We need him to continue his initiatives in Assam so that our state can continue its unprecedented development. The synergy between the BJP govt at the Centre and the BJP govt in Assam has proven to be highly beneficial for the people of our state. We must ensure that this partnership continues for the betterment of Assam.”
The chief minister also lauded Sonowal for his dedicated service to the people of Assam and urged the public to support him in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
“Sarbananda Sonowal has been a true leader of Assam, working tirelessly for the development of our state. We need him to represent us in Parliament so that our voices continue to get heard at the national level. I urge each one of you to support him and ensure his victory in the elections,” the chief minister said.

Highlighting the promises fulfilled by his govt, Sarma said one lakh govt jobs had been provided to the youth of Assam, with plans for an additional 50,000 in the pipeline. He also announced the extension of the Orundoi scheme to all ration card holders in the state, ensuring a cash benefit of Rs 1,250 per month to every eligible family.
