GUWAHATI: The special task force (STF) of Assam Police interrogated the imam of a mosque here on Sunday in connection with the case of IIT Guwahati student Tauseef Ali Farooqi, who was arrested on March 23 after he sent an email to a top cop stating that he was moving to Afghanistan to join IS.
The imam, who did not wish to be named, said he was asked if he had any connection with Tauseef.

“I have cooperated with the police. Not only Tauseef, many Muslim students of the institution along with other people often visit the mosque as a normal practice,” he added. Tauseef is currently in five-day police custody, which will end on Monday.
