Varsity signs MoU for research in history and archaeology
Dibrugarh: The Dibrugarh University and the Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies, Guwahati have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand collaborative research in the fields of history and archaeology. The MoU was signed on Thursday by University registrar Dr Parmananda Sonowal and Dr Sangeeta Gogoi, director of the directorate.
The MoU aims to facilitate collaboration in the field of collecting old manuscripts, preserving historical source materials and conducting research in the fields of history and archaeology.
The partnership will also enable the organisation of workshops and seminars which will benefit the students of Dibrugarh University. Dr Chandan Sharma, Professor of History at Dibrugarh University, expressed his excitement about the partnership, adding that it will help the university in collecting old manuscripts and preserving historical source materials. “The MoU will immensely help the students of Dibrugarh University in the field of research and other activities. The partnership will enable us to work together in the preservation and study of historical source materials, which is essential for understanding our rich cultural heritage,” Sharma said.
