Silchar: BJP candidates from Silchar (SC) and Karimganj Lok Sabha seats have expressed confidence that they will win by huge margins as voting concluded peacefully barring a few stray incidents of EVM malfunctioning and violence at a few polling stations of the Barak Valley.
After exercising their franchise at the respective polling stations on Friday, Parimal Suklabaidya (Silchar candidate) and Kripanath Mallah (Karimganj candidate) said they will win the elections and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again.
Talking to the media after casting his vote in Cachar district’s Irongmara, Suklabaidya said the Narendra Modi govt is going to come to power at the Centre for the third term. He also expressed confidence about his victory in Silchar, adding, he is very happy as he feels that he will get to work with Modi in the Lok Sabha. “In the past few years, I was working in the state (Assam). I am very happy that I will now get to work with Modiji in the Lok Sabha,” Parimal said.
Mallah said he will win by around 1.50 lakh votes and become the MP of Karimganj for the second time.
After casting his vote on Friday, Mallah told the media that the BJP is going to comfortably achieve its target of winning 400 Lok Sabha seats. He said no other candidate will be able to pose any challenge to the BJP in Karimganj. “People will vote for the BJP. People will vote for development,” he added.
