Dharwad: The first convention of Karnataka Epigraphy Society will be held at JSS DRH hall in Vidyagiri of Dharwad on April 29 and 30. Former vice-chancellor of Hampi Kannada University professor DV Parashivamurthy will be the president of the convention. Scholar BV Shirur will inaugurate the convention at 10am on Monday. Scholar Hanumakshi Gogi will preside.
BV Shirur will be presented the MM Kalburgi Epigraphy Award, while chairman of Karnataka HistoryAcademy Devarakondareddy will be given BR Hiremath Award. Professors JM Nagayya and Amaresh Yatagal will deliver special lectures. JSS secretary Ajit Prasad will inaugurate the photo exhibition while Reshma Savant will inaugurate the painting expo.
