15-year-old Dalit boy kills self in hostel

Hyderabad: A 15-year-old Dalit boy studying class IX in Telangana social welfare residential school’s Kandukur branch located at Nadergul village under Adibatla police station of Rachakonda commissionerate died by suicide on Thursday morning.
Police said the boy’s father was bedridden due to a kidney ailment and to see his father, the boy went home a couple of days ago without taking permission at the hostel.On his return to the hostel on Wednesday, the hostel staff counselled the boy to not repeat such things.
He died by suicide in the hostel in the wee hours of Thursday, said Adibatla station house officer (SHO) S.Raghavender Reddy. Inquiries also revealed that in the past too, the boy would frequently tell that he will die by suicide.tnn
