HYDERABAD: With an eye on bagging maximum number of seats in the May 13 Lok Sabha elections, Congress on Friday released a Telangana-specific manifesto promising to re-merge five Andhra Pradesh villages with Telangana and revive the Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR) project around Greater Hyderabad to provide direct and indirect employment to lakhs of jobless youth.
The party also promised to establish a central premier institution, Supreme Court bench in Hyderabad, airports and railway lines and extend national status to Medaram jatara and Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation scheme.
In all, 23 promises were made in the poll document that was released by manifesto committee chairman and IT minister D Sridhar Babu, AICC leaders Deepa Dasmunsi and Rohit Choudhary and senior leaders. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy, who was supposed to release it, had to rush to Rae Bareli to participate in the Rahul Gandhi nomination event.
