DSP approaches T high court, CM over‘procedural violation’ by senior officers
Hyderabad: A deputy superintendent of police rank officer filed a petition in the Telangana high court against senior police officials Stephen Raveendra, ADG (Home Guards) and V B Kamalasan Reddy, DG(Drugs Control Administration) accusing them of procedural violation. The petitioner, M Gangadhar, who is currently attached to the DGP office alleged that the violation resulted in him suffering loss in salary and service tenure.

Apart from the two top cops, the DSP has also named the state of Telangana, inspector general of police (Hyderabad Region), IGP (West Zone) and CP Cyberabad as respondents in his petition. A similar complaint was submitted to Telangana CM.
Gangadhar claimed that when he was inspector of Narsingi police station in October 2021, the then Cyberabad police commissioner, Raveendra, suspended him for dereliction of duties while handling a case (no 175/ 2021) relating to land dispute. About four months later, the suspension order was revoked when Gangadhar was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. But while he was asked to report to Kamalasan, the then IGP (West Zone), the IG asked him to go back to Raveendra to get a relieving order, the petitioner stated.
“The IGP also requested Cyberabad commissioner to relieve me with instructions to report before the IGP. But though I made a representation on March 16 requesting the commissioner to relieve me, he did not issue any order,” Gangadhar’s petition stated adding that it resulted in him not getting posting.
In his prayer before the court, Gangadhar said: “I am entitled to be paid a salary and allowance for the period from March 1, 2022 to July 19, 2022.” Despite repeated attempts Raveendra could not be reached for a comment. Kamalasan, meanwhile, said he wasn’t aware of matter.
Apart from these details, Gangadhar’s complaint to the CM also accused Raveendra of deliberately keeping his disciplinary proceedings pending for one and half years.
