Hyderabad: Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy of the Telangana high court on Friday directed the Union govt and information technology authorities under it to examine a BRS representation, which charged them with inaction over the spread of alleged falsehoods in certain channels and social media outlets against its working president K T Rama Rao in phone tapping case.

The BRS plaint alleged that Google, YouTube, various social media outfits and some news channels were spreading falsehoods against KTR in the case that is under investigation.
The party’s counsel contended that the poll code that is in force casts an obligation on authorities to make these platforms adhere to the code.
