Hyderabad: The state govt on Wednesday appointed senior bureaucrats as special officers to monitor the supply of
drinking water in Telangana and to ensure that inconvenience is not caused to the people during summer.
The development follows a review meeting conducted by chief minister A Revanth Reddy recently. Senior
IAS officers have been directed to monitor the situation till July-end.
Chief secretary A Santhi Kumari issued the orders with immediate effect.
The special officers were instructed not to seek leave during this period. These officers include transport, roads and buildings special secretary B Vijiendra for Rangareddy, Vikarabad and Medchal Malkajgiri districts, TSBIE secretary Shruti Ojha for Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal and Nagarkurnool, agriculture director B Gopi for Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Mahabubabad districts.
The govt also appointed senior bureaucrafts as special officers to rest of the districts.
