‘KCR tapped phones & extorted money’
Hyderabad: Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao got thousands of phones tapped and extorted money through intimidation by misusing Intelligence, police and other agencies. He also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was doing the same at the national level.
Addressing a public meeting after releasing the Congress Lok Sabha manifesto in Tukkuguda, 40 km from the city, Rahul said KCR destroyed the evidence and data of the state after people ousted him from power.
The Congress govt in Telangana has initiated action and the truth is in front of the people, he said.
However, the Nehru-Gandhi scion did not touch upon the arrest of K Kavitha, who is jailed in the Delhi liquor scam case. Targeting KCR, Rahul said: “One day, the Telangana model will compete and surpass the Made in China model. I am confident that the people of Telangana will show the way to the entire country because you all work together in religious harmony against religious hatred being spread by the BJP,” he said.
Claiming that the unemployment rate was at its highest in the last 40 years and crores of people have gone back to poverty in the last 10 years of Modi govt, he said the Congress govt in Telangana has given 30,000 jobs and will soon give another 50,000 jobs. The ‘yuva nyay’ guarantee in the manifesto promises ₹1 lakh job for every youth under apprenticeship, he said.
