Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy recently took a ride on a state-owned RTC bus in Hyderabad.
HYDERABAD: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy recently took a ride on a state-owned Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus in Hyderabad. During the journey, Rahul inquired about the free bus travel facility for women on the RTC buses. Rahul Gandhi further engaged with the passengers, discussing the party's manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and highlighting various schemes such as Yuva Nyay, Kisan Nyay, Nari Nyay, and Shramik Nyay.


They boarded the RTC bus at Dilsukh Nagar in Hyderabad, following a public gathering in the city's IT district. The leaders engaged with fellow passengers during the trip, gathering opinions and insights regarding the Mahalakshmi free bus travel initiative. This scheme was introduced by the Congress-led Telangana government in December of the previous year, shortly after the party's victory over the BRS in the state elections.
Gandhi took the opportunity to interact directly with the commuters, seeking their feedback on the effectiveness and impact of the free bus travel program.
During the ride, Congress party leaders also distributed pamphlets detailing their "Panch Nyay" plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to the passengers. Meanwhile, the commuters on the bus were observed capturing the moment by filming Gandhi and Reddy, as well as taking selfies with the two politicians.
Earlier, During a public rally in Medak, Telangana, on Thursday, the Congress leader promised to create 30 lakh
government jobs once the opposition coalition, INDIA bloc, comes to power at the Centre.
Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the issue of unemployment in the country. He alleged that PM Modi "made crores of youth' unemployed. "Narendra Modi made crores of youth of the country unemployed. But the Congress party has come up with the scheme of "first job is permanent'. In this scheme, we will give every educated youth the right to an apprenticeship of Rs 1 lakh. Then as soon as the INDIA government is formed on June 4, we will start the work of filling 30 lakh government jobs," Gandhi said while addressing the gathering in Medak.
The voting for all 17 seats in Telangana is scheduled for May 13 in the fourth phase of the current Lok Sabha elections.
