Poll pleas: HC issues notices to six MLAs
Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Friday issued notices to Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender (BRS) and five other MLAs to file replies within four weeks in six separate petitions by losing candidates in Dec 2023 assembly polls.
In Khairatabad, P Vijaya Reddy (Congress) sought disqualification of Danam on grounds of suppression of assets in name of his wife and kin.
In Jubilee Hills, Maganti Gopal’s (BRS) victory was challenged by Mohammed Azharuddin of Congress and another person Naveen Yadav. In Mahbubnagar, election of Y Srinivas Reddy (Congress) was challenged by losing BRS candidate Srinivas Goud.
In Kothagudem, K Sambasiva Rao’s (CPI) election was challenged by Nandulal Agarwal. In Asifabad, Kova Laxmi’s (BRS) win was challenged by Ajmera Shyam of Congress. In Devarakadra, G Madhusudan Reddy’s (Cong) election was challenged by Alla Venkateswar Reddy of BRS. Some of the petitions have come up before Justice B Vijaysen Reddy and rest before Justice K Lakshman and Justice S Nanda. tnn
