RaGa: Modi works only for benefit of Adani & Ambani
HYDERABAD: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of working for the benefit of only Adani and Ambani and a small group of about 25 industrialists while neglecting to provide employment to people of the country.
Addressing an election meeting at Saroornagar stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday, Rahul said that the Modi govt had waived loans up to 16 lakh crore of these 20-25 individuals.Earlier, at another election meeting at Narsapur in Medak Lok Sabha constituency, he said that Adani had greatly benefitted under Modi’s rule as his firms had bagged major contracts in airports, ports and infrastructure. He said the BJP govt’s motive in privatising public sector undertakings was to primarily hand them over to Adani.
Speaking at the meeting to campaign for Congress’ Medak candidate Neelam Madhu, Rahul said the rich had become richer under Modi’s rule and that almost the entire wealth of the country was in the hands of 20 to 25 individuals.
The Congress MP alleged that the decision to impose GST and demonetisation was solely to benefit Adani.
“An amount equivalent to the entire wealth that these individuals hold will be distributed among the poor of the country. When the INDIA alliance takes charge at the Centre after the Lok Sabha polls, crores of Indians will become lakhpatis as they will become beneficiaries of a revolutionary and historical move of the govt,” he said.
“You will not be able to dream what the INDIA alliance will have in store for people’s benefit,” he said.
