KOTA: A 19-year-old coaching student who was preparing for medical entrance exam for the past three years and had appeared for NEET on May 5 did not return to his PG room after the exam. A missing report was filed by the boy’s uncle, Mathura Prasad, at Vigyan Nagar police station on May 6.
Police said efforts were underway to trace the missing boy, Rajendra Prasad Meena, a resident of Bamanwas village in Gangapur City district.

According to police, right after leaving his PG room, he sent an SMS to his parents saying that he did not wish to study further and was leaving home for 5 years. In the message, he assured them that he would not take any wrong steps and urged his mother not to worry about him, said police.
After the exam on May 6, Rajendra had informed the owner and caretaker of the PG in Vigyan Nagar that he was going home. Kalpna Sharma, the PG owner said, “Rajendra was a happy and stress-free young man. Before leaving the PG on Monday, he settled all outstanding rent and fees, and interacted happily with his fellow classmates.”
DSP Yogesh Sharma said on Thursday, “On May 6, Rajendra had sent a text message to his parents that he did not wish to continue studying and also informed them that he had Rs 8,000 in his pocket. In the message Rajendra also reassured that he would not take any wrong actions. He mentioned that he was leaving home for 5 years and added that he would contact family members and relatives if necessary.”
He added, “The missing boy also requested them not to call him as he would break his SIM card and sell the mobile phone.” After receiving the message, his parents arrived in Kota to start searching for him personally.
