BSF helps daughter living in Bangladesh to bid last farewell to deceased father in India
KOLKATA: The Border Security Force (BSF) facilitated a woman living in Bangladesh to have the last glimpse of her deceased Indian father at zero line of India-Bangladesh border on Friday.
The BSF troops of 08 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier arranged the poignant moment at the Zero Line near the International Border in Bengal on humanitarian grounds.

The incident happened on Thursday in the Nadia district's border area when Lipi Bibi, the wife of the deceased Mahabul Mandal, approached the Company Commander of Border Outpost Puttikhali, informing him of her husband's passing the previous night.
With her daughter and in-laws living across the border in Bangladesh, Lipi Bibi sought the BSF's assistance in granting them a chance to see the man one last time.
Recognizing the emotional significance of the request, the Company Commander swiftly contacted his counterpart from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). In a display of shared humanity, both border security forces collaborated to arrange for the daughter and relatives to pay their respects at the Zero Line near the international border.
“The atmosphere was somber during the final farewell. This gesture exemplifies the BSF's commitment to upholding both security and humanitarian values,” said AK Arya, DIG of the South Bengal frontier and public relations officer of BSF.
