LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said Bahujan Samaj Party chief had stripped nephew Akash Anand of party posts after sensing a crushing defeat in Lok Sabha polls due to complete failure of its organization.
He appealed to the "Bahujan Samaj" to vote for SP and not to waste it by polling for BSP which is nowhere in the contest.

On Tuesday evening, BSP supremo Mayawati had removed nephew Akash Anand from the post of party's national coordinator and her political position because of his 'immature' political conduct. Action against Akash followed days after he referred to the BJP-led govt at the Centre and in the state as "Aatankwadiyon ki sarkar" (govt of terrorists), "Tabahi ki sarkar" (govt of destruction) while exhorting his supporters to assault BJP workers at an election rally in Sitapur on April 28.
"Whatever major organisational changes that BSP has made is an internal issue of the party. But the real reason behind the move are reports that BSP may not be able to win a single seat among the constituencies where polling has been held in the first three phases till now," Akhilesh said in a post on 'X'.
He said a chunk of the traditional BSP voter had polled in favour of the INDIA bloc candidates so far to save the Constitution and thereby ensure that the right to reservation is preserved. "The BSP has taken this shift of vote as a failure of its organization and made such big changes in the hierarchy. But it is too late in the day as the BSP has slipped off the contest," the SP chief said.
The fact is that the BSP has failed to open its account in seat tally in the first three phases which include regions where the party has a hold, wiping out possibilities of the party winning any seat in the rest of the phases, Akhilesh said in his post.
"In such a situation, I appeal to the electorate not to waste their votes and back the INDIA bloc candidates who are challenging the BJP head-on to save Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's Constitution and preserve the right to reservation as well," he said.
