Ludhiana: A head-on collision between two trucks on the flyover near Tajpur Road claimed the life of one of the drivers on Friday.
Such was the impact of the crash that it took emergency responders about three hours to extricate the body of Sukhdev Singh. It has been alleged that the victim had fallen asleep while driving. He was on his way towards Phagwara.
The accident also caused a brief traffic chaos at the spot. The traffic movement was restored after both the trucks were removed from the site.
The driver of the other truck has been identified as Arjun Kumar, who was going to Srinagar from Panipat.
Daresi station house officer Harpreet Singh said the victim’s family has been informed. The police will proceed further after recording statements, he added.
