Ludhiana: Sarabha Nagar Police have booked secretary, Jhammat village panchayat, former sarpanch and a panchayat member of the same village for misplacing about 28 files and registers related to the panchayat. A few of these files contain records of funds issued and used for the village. The FIR has been lodged on the complaint of Rajesh Chadhha, block development and panchayat officer, Ludhiana-I.
The accused have been identified as secretary, panchayat Sukhwinder Singh Sonu, former sarpanch of Jhammat village, Balveer Singh and former panchayat member Ravinder Singh. Inspector Paramvir Singh, SHO, Sarabha Nagar police station, said that police have registered a case. The BDPO alleged that the accused misplaced the files containing details of projects and allocation of funds etc. All the three accused are at large and raids are being conducted to arrest them. A case has been registered under sections 409 (Criminal breach of trust by public servant) and 120-B (Criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. tnn
