NCB arrests Guj bizman in drug racket
Mumbai: The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) that busted the nitrazepem drug smuggling racket, arrested the businessman from Valsad in Gujarat.
The NCB on Wednesday arrested Ram Patel under the NDPS Act. Last month, the NCB had arrested three persons from Santacruz and seized 28,245 tablets. The NCB arrested Sheldon Vincint Nunes (44), Rihana Riyazuddin Ansari (28) and Irfan Ansari.
Officials said that on April 10, they received specific intelligence and raided Sheldon Nune's house on Kalina Kurla road and seized the tablets weighing 15.817 kg, which is commercial quantity. Nunes was arrested under the NDPS Act and during the interrogations he disclosed the role of the main accused Rihana Ansari and her brother Irfan and now the agency found Patel was the key member of the syndicate.
