10 truckloads of scrap collected from NMC HQ, two other bldgs
Nagpur: Two days after municipal commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari conducted a surprise inspection and issued orders, work began to remove scrap and old items from the old and new administrative buildings of NMC headquarters, the CFC building, and the Bank of Maharashtra building on Friday evening.
On Saturday, NMC’s solid waste management department collected more than 10 trucks of scrap including old tables, chairs, cabinets, coolers and other furniture.
The scrap has been stored in front of fire department headquarters and will be soon auctioned after NMC public works department and the general administration department complete the formalities.
Chaudhari had got many complaints about scrap piled up in the buildings. Before the assembly session last year, he had told PWD executive engineer Alpana Patne and junior engineer Prashant Nehare to clear the scrap. He reprimanded Patne & Nehare for their inaction.
