‘BJP’s 400 seats claim mere rhetoric’
Raipur: All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba emphasized the significance of the current elections in safeguarding the nation's democratic principles.
Speaking at the party's state office in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, she stressed the need to protect constitutional values and ensure the voices of democracy are not stifled by authoritarian forces.
Lamba's remarks came amidst her extensive travels across 22 states, including Chhattisgarh, where she observed no significant wave of support for the BJP, as claimed by the saffron party.

She dismissed the BJP's assertion of securing 400 seats in the election as mere rhetoric, highlighting the party's impending losses in North India and predicting a seat tally ranging between 180 to 200.
The ongoing elections, according to Lamba, are a national affair focusing on issues of injustice and the pursuit of justice symbolized by Rahul Gandhi's nationwide journey. Lamba criticized the Prime Minister for fearmongering tactics and spreading falsehoods about the Congress manifesto, particularly regarding allegations of favoritism towards Muslims.
Lamba outlined the Congress campaign's key principles, including justice for women, youth, farmers, and workers, along with Congress’s 25 guarantees, and also condemened the arrests of elected leaders in the country and punitive actions against MPs. She challenged the PM and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to engage in a debate on critical issues, and spoke of the BJP government's failures in fulfilling promises like doubling farmers' income and generating employment opportunities.
