RAJKOT: Heirs of 45 erstwhile princely states in Gujarat on Thursday adopted a resolution to support PM Narendra Modi in winning a third consecutive term in “broader national interest” and for “protecting Sanatan Dharma.”
A ‘contemplation meeting’ of princely states was organised by the Rajkot royal scion Mandhatasinh Jadeja. The meeting was called in the wake of the Kshatriya community’s protest against Rajkot BJP candidate and Union minister Parshottam Rupala, which has now converted into anger against the saffron party.
“PM is an ascetic and a brave man working for well-being and protection of 145 crore Indians,” Jadeja said. During the meeting, the heirs of 28 states were present, and 16 declared their support through letters. Jadeja read out the letters from the empress of Kutch, Priti Devi, and the king of Bhavnagar state, Vijayrajsinhji.
Jadeja said in the current global turmoil, India requires a strong govt. “It is the view of all royal families that 2024 election is for bright future of our next generation, culture & sanatan dharma.”
Replaying to a question from the media on the ongoing protests by the Kshatriya community, Jadeja said “Dialogue between the coordination committee (of Kshatriya community) and BJP leaders is on and I believe the issue will be settled soon.”
