Befitting reply will be given to forces who put Hemant Soren in jail: Kalpana
Bokaro: Kalpana Soren, wife of former chief minister Hemant Soren, in her maiden public address at the packed Jhanda Maidan in Giridih, unleashed a scathing attack on the BJP, asserting, “You haven't jailed Hemant Soren; you've jailed the dignity and self-respect of Jharkhand. There will be a befitting reply to this in near future."
Her speech, marked by gestures and emotional fervour, resonated with the audience as she recounted the journey of the JMM govt and lambasted the opposition.

Addressing the gathering on the 51st foundation day of JMM, Kalpana set off on her political journey by hoisting the party flag, symbolising her commitment to the cause. Kalpana Soren said that she had gone to Hotwar jail to meet him on Sunday, her birthday.
Kalpana made everyone emotional with her address. “What is the crime of Hemant Soren? It is a crime to demand Rs 1.36 lakh crore for Jharkhand from the Central govt. Is it a crime to ask for Sarna Dharma Code? Or demanding 27 per cent for backward people in the state is a crime. Or is it a crime for farmers to waive their loans? Is it a crime to ask for a displacement policy? Since 2019, when the JMM-Congress govt got the mandate, the opponents have started making moves,” she said while addressing the crowd.
Switching seamlessly between languages, Kalpana Soren struck a chord with her tribal counterparts, condemning the apathy of the political elite towards their plight. Prior to her address in Giridih, she sought blessings at Manjhithan, underscoring her deep-rooted connection to the land and its people. Kalpana marked her entry into active politics amid the vibrant atmosphere of Giridih also visiting Manjhithan in Madhuban. She paid her respects at Manjhithan and declared her foray into active politics, signalling a new chapter in her journey from Giridih. They honoured her by adorning her with a pata (leaf) cap, symbolising the rich cultural heritage of the Santhali community.

Chief minister Champai Soren laid the foundation stone for a dairy plant in Giridih to be built at a cost of Rs 66.69 crore. The construction of Mega Dairy plant is to be done by the agriculture department on 8 acres of land. At least 50,000 litres of milk will be produced every day in the dairy plant. Many works were done through livestock schemes.
The CM said the govt is committed to usher in agricultural development despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. In his remarks, he lamented the BJP's failure to capitalise on opportunities for progress since assuming power, contrasting it with his administration's proactive approach towards uplifting rural livelihoods.
