JAC matric and inter exams begin
Ranchi: The matriculation and intermediate board examination conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council commenced on Tuesday.
This year, a total of 7,66,500 candidates are participating in the exams. Among them, 4,21,678 students are taking the matriculation exam, while 3,44,822 students are appearing for the intermediate. A total of 94,433 candidates will appear for the intermediate science exam, 25,907 for commerce, and 2,24,502 for arts.
There are 1,238 centres for matriculation and 740 centres for intermediate exams in the state.
The exams will continue till Feb 26 and is being conducted in pen and paper mode. The Class X board exam was conducted from 9.45 am to 1.05 pm. JAC Intermediate exam was conducted from 2 pm to 5.20 pm.
All examinees arrived at the examination centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. The exam was conducted in both OMR sheet and written formats, with students instructed to respond to multiple-choice questions. An extra 15 minutes were allocated to students to peruse the question paper. The use of electronic devices such as phones, watches, and calculators were strictly prohibited within the examination centres. Students were advised to bring essential stationery items such as black or blue pens, pencils, and erasers to the examination hall.
In order to pass the Jharkhand Board Class 10 and 12 examinations 2024, students are required to score at least 33 per cent in each subject as well as overall.
JAC secretary, S D Tigga, said, “Our team is committed to ensuring a fair and smooth examination process, and we urge all students to adhere to the rules and regulations. Over 99% of students participated in the ongoing Jharkhand Board Examinations which commenced amid stringent safety measures.”
