Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court has quashed a criminal case pending against Bollywood film director Praksh Jha in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Ranchi. The court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi while hearing a criminal miscellaneous petition filed by Jha set aside the order of cognizance taken by the chief judicial magistrate and also set aside the entire criminal proceedings against the veteran film director.
Jha was facing the heat of the prosecution in a complaint case filed by Classic Multiplex Private Limited which had earlier filed an FIR against Jha for violation of agreement which was not found to be true by police.
After completing probe, police did not submit a chargesheet in the matter. The company had paid Jha Rs 20 lakh and complained as per the agreement Jha was to provide a 10,000 square feet area in his mall which had not been done.
