PM Narendra Modi blows LS poll bugle from Dhanbad, fires salvo at India bloc

DHANBAD: Kicking off BJP’s election campaign in Jharkhand ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hit out at the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led Mahagatbandhan govt for letting tribals down and equated the INDIA bloc with corruption.
Shortly after inaugurating Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) fertilizer plant and a slew of projects worth around Rs 35,747 crore, PM Modi while referring to the recent ED crackdown by central probe agencies, said “Jo khayega, wo jail jayega.Yeh Modi ki guarantee hai (those who resort to corruption will land in jail. This is Modi’s guarantee).”
During his first visit after the new JMM-Congress-RJD govt in the state under the stewardship of Champai Soren, Modi said: “JMM means Jamkar Khao Party. They (JMM & Sorens) can’t think beyond family and dynasty.”
He was addressing a mammoth rally at Barwadda in Dhanbad after taking part in official events at the HURL’s fertilizer plant premises in Sindri, around 30 km away.
PM Modi lashed out at Congress too and said for the JMM and Congress, tribals are just a vote bank and they have practically done nothing for their overall development. Whereas the BJP government at the Centre is working with the mission of “sabka vikas”.
“The guarantee of Modi starts from the point from where people start losing their hopes from other political parties,” he added.
Taking a dig at the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state since alliance govt came in power in 2019, Modi said: “…Rangdari (extortion), appeasement and infiltration has increased in the state because of the corrupt and dynastic govt,”.
Modis said JMM and Congress were busy in filling their own coffers and have amassed huge “benami” assets.”
Indirectly referring to IT raids against Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu in February this year, Modi said, “I was surprised to see such piles of cash from a Jharkhand leader’s establishments that were unearthed by central agencies.”
‘JMM-led govt in state anti-devpt, tries to stall central projects’
The prime minister also said, “And when the central agencies start investigating against cor- ruption, they all gang up to evade summons and fair investigation.” “But under the BJP govt all such leaders will have to return what they have plundered (jo loota hai woh lautana padega),” Modi further said. He also dubbed the incumbent govt in state as anti-development and cited a few central projects like free ra- tion to poor, Jal Jeevan Mission and the North Karanpura power project to accuse the state govt of trying to stall them in the state.
“Bringing the tribal population into the mainstream of the nation through overall development is the priority of the Union government. It was the BJP that created the state of Jharkhand, got Birsa Munda Sangrahalaya constructed and declare his date of birth as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas,” he said.
DHANBAD:The prime minister also cited how he has been fulfilling his promises made to the state by timely completion of projects such as Deoghar airport, AIIMS, ensuring 100% electrification of rail lines, modernization work of 27 railway stations as his guarantees. Earlier in his address, state BJP chief Babulal Ma- randi alleged that the family of Hemant Soren is the biggest landlord of the state, and he should clarify how they deceived the tribals and acquired their land. Marandi also alleged that the Champai govt too was following the footsteps of the Hemant govt and appealed to the people to work hard to en- sure that BJP’s victory in all the 14 parliamentary seats of the state.
