Over 300 benches set up for 1st lok adalat of 2024
Ranchi: The Jharkhand State Legal Service Authority (JHASLA) has formed around 300 benches across the state to resolve pending cases and pre-litigation disputes as part of this year’s first National Lok Adalat (NLA) slated for Saturday.
JHALSA has sent notices to over 1 lakh litigants in pending cases as part of the exercise. On the initiative of JHALSA executive chairman and Jharkhand high court judge Justice SN Prasad, assets would also be distributed among beneficiaries in the NLA.

JHALSA on Friday informed that all types of pre-litigation disputes and the cases related to compoundable offences, cheque bounce, electricity theft, excise, forest, weight and measures, family disputes and other civil matters are settled in the NLAs.
The organization stated that preparations for the NLA had been going on at the level of District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) for the past several weeks. Justice Prasad also held a meeting with presidents and secretaries of all DLSAs of the state through a video-conferencing and issued several instructions. He said efforts should be made for disposing of maximum number of cases in NLAs.
