Ranchi: A day after the alleged question paper leak of the combined graduate level (CGL) examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), protests continued for the second day on Monday as Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a rally from Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium to Albert Ekka Chowk and burnt effigies of chief minister Hemant Soren and the JSSC.
The JSSC-CGL, 2023, examinations were held on Sunday but reports of the third paper, general studies, having got leaked started doing the rounds. Late Sunday evening, the JSSC issued an order cancelling the paper and stated that a new examination date would be announced soon.
ABVP state media convenor Durgesh Yadav said the examinations were held after a gap of 12 years. It is unfortunate to play with future of the youths, who were hopeful of bagging a government job, he said.
BJP state president Babulal Marandi tweeted, demanding CBI inquiry into the incident. He said framing of rules and receiving forms are not achievements of the government, adding that the examinations should be held in a just manner.
Ajsu-P MP from Giridih Chandraprakash Choudhary said the alleged paper leak demonstrated the insensitiveness of the government towards the youths. The government has no roadmap for conducting fair examinations and declaring results on time, he added.
The Jharkhand Youth Association sought cancellation of all three papers of the CGL examinations held on Sunday. It expressed apprehension that the remaining papers held might have also been leaked.
Meanwhile, the Jharkhand State Students’ Union (JSSU) demanded a CBI probe into the case. The members burnt the effigies of the CM and the JSSC in Ranchi, Bokaro, Giridih, Hazaribag, and Koderma, among other parts of the state.
Attempts to get information from JSSC chairman Neeraj Sinha on the issue met with no response.
