NEW DELHI: An encounter between security forces and Maoists occurred in
Jharkhand's Bokaro district on Tuesday, according to the police. The gunfight is still ongoing in the Gindhauniya forest in the Gomia block of the district, despite heavy rainfall.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, as confirmed by the police. Bokaro superintendent of police (SP) Priyadarshi Alok said that there had been reports of an encounter between security forces and extremists since morning.
However, there have been no casualties or injuries reported so far. The police received information about the presence of a Maoist squad in the forest and engaged in an exchange of fire during the search operation.
