Ex-corporator held for taking 2.5 lakh bribe
Thane: The Anti Extortion Cell of the Thane crime branch arrested a former corporator of NMMC for extorting Rs 2.5 lakh from a contractor. His driver was arrested as well. The accused, MK Madhvi, is currently affiliated with the Sena (UBT), said a source. According to police the contractor bagged the tender of trenching and cable laying. The work was to be undertaken in the Madhvi’s ward where he demanded the bribe.tnn
