Opposition leader asks CPM allies to exit LDF
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan, on Friday, asked CPM's allies in the Left front to exit the alliance in view of the controversies over LDF convener EP Jayarajan secretly meeting BJP's Kerala Prabhari Prakash Javadekar. Satheesan said CPM's allies in the LDF should shed their hypocrisy and start questioning the party which harbours an unholy alliance with BJP.
"It's quite surprising that none of the constituents in LDF have the courage to demand the removal of EP Jayarajan from the LDF convener's post even after the CPM-BJP link came to the fore.
All allies, including CPI, remain submissive before Pinarayi Vijayan as they fear losing power. It's a shameful spectacle in politics," said Satheesan at a news conference.
The opposition leader said the inability of LDF's allies to boldly take up the Jayarajan episode and question the CPM did show how dependent and weak they were. "It shows the lack of democracy and freedom in the LDF," he said, adding that Pinarayi Vijayan was delivering anti-Modi speeches by keeping NDA's ally Janata Dal (S) in LDF in Kerala. Satheesan asked why LDF allies were reluctant to denounce JD(S) whom PM Narendra Modi has praised?
