Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Nadikar’ which revolves around the life of a movie star named David Padikkal, is witnessing a major drop, especially on the weekdays.
As per a report by Sacnilk, ‘Nadikar’ has earned Rs 3.51 crore in net earnings across India within its initial five-day run. However, on its fifth day, May 7, Tuesday, the film experienced a significant slump, garnering a mere Rs 28 lakh net in India.
This sharp drop of 17.65% from the previous day's collections raises questions about the film’s survival in its box office performance in the days ahead.
Adding to the concern, the occupancy rate on Tuesday stood at a 10.06% in Malayalam theaters.
Starring Tovino Thomas, ‘Nadikar’ is directed by Lal Jr. The film has Soubin Shahir, Bhavana Menon, Suresh Krishna, and Balu Varghese in pivotal roles.

ETimes rated ‘Nadikar’ 3 out of 5 and wrote, “Jean Paul Lal's Nadikar starts off with the lavish and extravagant life of a 'superstar' David Padikkal. There is humor and some foreshadowing, some of it effective and some so hard to catch. Interestingly, it's not as angsty as one might expect with such a subject. The writing is very sloppy in places, and some minor details were off-putting. There is this one scene where they were filming something where Indrans plays the parent's role. The costume was so glaringly out of place. The feeling of artificiality crops up in some of the scenes that require more naturality. A lot of behind-the-scenes elements were covered well. Most of the drawbacks are saved by the presence of the suave man on screen. The film is by no means a masterpiece, but it is an entertainer.”
