Actor Simbu, who last appeared in the movie 'Pathu Thala,' is currently filming for Mani Ratnam's 'Thug Life.' Following 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu,' Simbu was set to star in the film 'Corona Kumar,' directed by Gokul N Krishna and produced by Ishari K Ganesh. However, due to an undisclosed dispute, Simbu withdrew from the project, leading to allegations that he had received an advance payment before filming began.
Subsequently, Ishari K Ganesh, the producer of Vels Production, lodged a complaint with the Producers Council against Simbu. He insisted that Simbu should not engage in other film projects until he either reimburses the advance payment or commits to a new film under the same production banner. This disagreement between the producer and the actor has persisted for some time.
In the midst of this controversy, Simbu has also committed to his film 'STR 48' with director Desingh Periasamy. The movie is purported to feature Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. Pre-production activities have concluded, and filming is scheduled to commence after Simbu completes his work on 'Thug Life.'
