With polling day set for May 7, Ahmedabad West constituency braces itself for a high-stakes showdown between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC), led by Dineshbhai Kodarbhai Makwana and Bharat Makwana respectively.

In the electoral tapestry of the Ahmedabad West parliamentary constituency, the years 2014 and 2019 stand as pivotal chapters, embodying the essence of democratic fervor and political evolution.
In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the constituency witnessed active participation, with a total of 1,643,317 electors exercising their democratic right. This marked a notable increase from the 1,534,400 electors recorded in 2014, indicating a growing engagement of the electorate in shaping the region's political landscape.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) maintained its stronghold in both elections, with Dr. Kirit P Solanki emerging victorious on both occasions. His victory in 2019 was notable, securing 641,622 votes, a testament to his resonance with the electorate and the party's enduring appeal in the constituency.
In 2014, Dr. Kirit P Solanki's victory was similarly decisive, with a significant vote count of 617,104. His Indian National Congress (INC) counterpart, Ishwarbahi Dhanabhai Makwana, trailed behind, reflecting the BJP's dominance in the region.
Fast forward to 2019, Dr. Kirit P Solanki's electoral triumph continued, with a substantial victory margin of 321,546 votes. Raju Parmar from the INC stood second with 320,076 votes, highlighting the enduring presence of both political parties in the electoral arena.
