Congress party has tendency to impede progress: Anurag Thakur

SHIMLA: Union minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth, and Sports Affairs, Anurag Singh Thakur, delivered a series of speeches during election programs in Hamirpur and Dharampur, highlighting the transformative development initiatives undertaken by the BJP in Himachal Pradesh and across India. Thakur underscored the proactive approach of the BJP towards development and criticized the Congress party for impeding progress.
Expressing concern over the stagnation of development efforts following the departure of the BJP government from Himachal Pradesh, Thakur attributed this setback to the obstructionist tactics employed by the Congress party. He accused the Congress of hindering progress at both the state and national levels, likening their approach to putting the vehicle of development in reverse gear.
Thakur praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the government's commitment to propelling India forward towards the vision of a developed nation. He cited various infrastructure projects and initiatives in Himachal Pradesh, including the Una-Daulatpur Chowk railway line, the Vande Bharat train service, and the establishment of educational institutions like AIIMS, PGI, Central University, IIIT, NIT, and the Hydro Engineering College.
Highlighting the BJP's inclusive governance philosophy of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with All, Development for All), Thakur contrasted it with the Congress party's divisive politics of appeasement. He stressed that the BJP's development-oriented approach benefits all sections of society, irrespective of religion or community. Thakur cited instances of inclusivity, such as the construction of a separate bridge near a mosque during the Amb railway line project.
On national security and defense, Thakur lauded the Modi government's initiatives, including One Rank, One Pension, and the modernization of the armed forces with advanced weaponry like the Rafale fighter jets. He highlighted the focus on border infrastructure development and indigenous defense production, showcasing India's capabilities in manufacturing fighter aircraft and warships.
Thakur criticized the Congress party's foreign policy stance, questioning its alignment with foreign powers and alleged support for divisive elements within India. He called upon Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to clarify his party's associations and policies, particularly concerning national security and internal conflicts.
Emphasizing the contrast between the weak governance of the Congress party and the decisive leadership of the Modi government, Thakur reaffirmed the BJP's commitment to building a strong, unified, and prosperous India.
